Haymaker Bar & Kitchen, NYC

Fly Girl Foodie was truly on the go this week in NYC and had the opportunity to visit Haymaker Bar & Kitchen. What I discovered was truly amazing food, friendly staff and a phenomenal atmosphere. Their House Cured Olives with virgin olive oil and calabrese chili, Mac and Cheese with charred green chiles, sharp cheddar, fontina, gruyere, greek feta and garlic breadcrumbs, Crispy Chicken Wings with sweet-lime chili sauce, chipotle bbq, bourbon maple mustard and za’atar dry rub, Heirloom Squash Kebab with Acorn Hill Dairy goat’s milk ricotta, herb marinated squash, basil and sundried tomato tapenade and the Bloody Mary with Vodka, Haymaker Bloody Mix, Olives, Pickle Spear had our tastebuds exploding with joy! We wanted to try everything on the menu, but we ran out of time because we had to head to the airport. If you’re in the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan, you should definitely check out this amazing eatery and bar! We promise you won’t be disappointed.

Haymaker Bar & Kitchen is inspired by a time when relaxed and generous hospitality was believed to be an obligation. The craft beer bar and American gastropub is designed in the spirit of a haymaker’s farmhouse, with early 20th century charm and old-world personality.

Owner David Smith, Partner Jeff Anzulewicz, along with General Manager, Tristan Colegrove, will be pouring an extensive list of beer with more than 18 selections on-tap, a small, but smart selection of wines by the glass, as well as a refined list of classic cocktails accompanied by a stellar menu of modern American favorites.

Located right by Madison Square Garden, the Haymaker Bar and Grill has 18 taps on constant rotation, wines by the glass, and classic American fare like mac & cheese with pancetta and a NOLA Caesar with Andouille lardons and cornbread croutons. Simplicity is key at Haymaker Bar and Kitchen in Chelsea. Choosing an elegant palette of white and light brown along with simple wood fixtures, the designers wanted Haymaker to transport the spirit of an old-world haymaker’s farmhouse into the 21st century. With 19 tap lines showcasing beer from around the world, along with a notably well-curated bottle and can list, Haymaker attracts the most avid of beer drinkers not only with its selection but also with its difficult-to-achieve modern charm.
